Physician Workforce Studies

Pursuant to New York State Finance Law §163.10(b), the New York State Department of (DOH) is presenting the following summary of relevant circumstances and substantial reasons why a competitive procurement was not feasible.

The DOH Center for Health Care Policy and Resource Development, Division of Workforce Transformation, is extending an existing contract with the Research Foundation for SUNY to assist the New York State Department of Health’s ongoing efforts to improve access to health care services for people who are uninsured, isolated, or medically vulnerable in underserved areas across New York State. The scope of work includes understanding the health workforce issues in New York and providing the technical capacity to identify and describe current and future access problems, to analyze potential workforce policy solutions, assist the New York State Department of Health with the processing of health professional shortage applications, and assist with other service-obligated programs in the state..

Due to the specific circumstances of this procurement and the unique qualifications of the selected firm/entity, a competitive procurement was not feasible in this instance.
