Hospitals and Diagnostic and Treatment Centers (Clinics) in New York State

The Division of Hospitals and Diagnostic and Treatment Centers (D&TCs) is under the statutory authority of Article 28, Section 3401 of the Public Health Law (PHL), and Title 10 of the New York Codes of Rules and Regulations (NYCRR), Section 405.

In this capacity, the Division is charged with the regulatory oversight of all hospitals and their off-campus sites (hospital extension clinics). The Division is also responsible for oversight of free-standing clinics, known as diagnostic and treatment centers (D&TCs) under Title 10 NYCRR, Section 751. The following federally defined facility types are also considered D&TCs:
