Single Source Procurement: PEP Hotline – Contract Extension
Pursuant to New York State Finance Law § 163.10(b), The New York State Department of Health is presenting the following summary of relevant circumstances, and material and substantial reasons why a competitive procurement was not feasible. The New York State Department of Health, PEP Hotline Program has made a determination to issue a Single Source Procurement to one eligible grantee to support ongoing currently funded projects.
This on-call clinical service provides initial triage/assessment for post exposure prophylaxis (PEP), without in-person contact, to all New York State (NYS) callers outside of New York City (NYC). The NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (NYC DOHMH) funds a separate contract with the same vendor for calls from NYC residents. A potential HIV exposure is an emergency situation, and the PEP Hotline offers immediate access to medications for individuals with a recent HIV risk exposure event. PEP-eligible individuals are prescribed PEP medication and then follow-up with a local health care provider in order to complete the testing, evaluation and related medical treatment.
