  1. Develop a systematic approach to the provision of care to refugee populations of all ages with an emphasis on the maternal and child health services system. This will require additional focused data collection to characterize the refugee population(s) and the current service system serving them. Gaps and barriers will be identified and strategies to address these will be developed. This project is a practice-based strategy that lends itself to the identification of collaborative relationships, building on existing programs, as well as the development of a model for refugee care that may be exported to other communities.
  2. Identify uninsured children in the Syracuse City School District and provide eligible children and their families with Facilitated Enrollment services.
  3. The Onondaga County Health Department will convene a workgroup to develop strategies for additional school-based initiatives.
