In November 2012 the Dutchess County Environmental Health Services Team was placed in the difficult role of running the Environmental Division following the retirement of the Division Director and his two most senior administrators. The daunting task of running the Division while maintaining core services following the loss of such significant institutional knowledge was compounded by a move to a new facility and a change in the leadership of the Department while taking on the additional duties of positions which had been eliminated. Working together, the Team managed these tasks admirably despite shrinking budgets, changing State requirements and staff shortages. Together, they kept the Environmental Division focused, providing oversight for the three District Offices, nearly 700 Public Water Supplies, numerous Engineering projects and all other programs necessary to ensure the safety of Dutchess County residents. Their success is a testimony to their selfless dedication, professionalism, creativeness and high ethical standards.
