John Hopper, Associate Sanitarian, Westchester County Department of Health

Supervisor of the Administrative Hearing Office 20 years of service

John Hopper is an Associate Sanitarian and is in charge of our Administrative Hearing Office and our ATUPA, (Adolescent Tobacco Use Prevention Program), Program. John is well versed in all the codes, rules and regulations we are responsible to enforce and is trusted when any related questions arise. John has a proven track record of putting the health and welfare of the public first while making sure that there is always an education component provided. He successfully conveys that core enforcement function of the Health Department to respondents at our Administrative Hearings in a way that combines education, along with the commensurate penalties associated with the violations, in order to diminish the chance of that respondent initiating future public health hazards. Furthermore, John is a member of our Indian Point Nuclear Response Team, and our Children's Camp Advisory Committee. He is an invaluable member of the health department staff.
