Cayuga County Health Department wishes to thank the MANY local physicians, RNs, EMTs and support staff that got their vaccination clinics off the ground and continue to keep them running.

The staff in the Cayuga County Health Department has gone above and beyond, working countless hours in response to the COVID-19 pandemic to fulfill the goal of keeping the residents of Cayuga County safe. This department works across a wide spectrum of community infrastructures, often dealing with emotionally charged situations. While following federal and state guidance to ease the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, the staff feel the impact of frustrations experienced by those in business, schools, restaurants, medical facilities, and by the residents of our community. The staff remain supportive, answering questions to educate and help with needs in a population of over 78,000 people. CCHD Staff embrace these challenges, adopting new roles and serving with understanding and compassion. Even with the constant cycle of change they continue to move forward in a proactive manner, consistently helpful, respectful, and responsive to the community’s needs and questions. They work to expand community knowledge, providing testing, situational updates, vaccination clinics, enforcement of regulations; while performing ongoing mandatory functions that are non-COVID-19 related. This is in recognition of the amazing people who work here, who feel responsibility to do their jobs well, support their co-workers, and maintain good public health and a safe environment in our community. I hope when we look back it will be with immense pride on how our staff individually, collectively, and collaboratively responded. The entire Cayuga County Health Department staff stands out front, as true champions in improving the health and safety of their community during extraordinary circumstances.
