When the first case of COVID-19 was identified in Ontario County the Public Health Department quickly mobilized its Emergency Response and opened the Emergency Operation Center. The team operated under Incident Command and resources were redeployed to address the ever-evolving pandemic. Staff remained flexible as workloads and demands increased in an effort to keep the residents safe. Staff gave tirelessly of their time giving up vacation and family time without complaint. They functioned as a well-oiled machine that creatively adjusted to every new mandate that came their way. Their professionalism shone as they calmed worried residents helping them to cooperatively comply with complex orders to isolate or quarantine.
