Purchase of Vaccine
Merck and Co., Inc. is, as of the date of this publication, the sole manufacturer of MMR vaccine in the United States. Sanofi-Pasteur is, as of the date of this publication, the sole manufacturer of meningococcal vaccine. If the institution does not have an account with these manufacturers, vaccine may be ordered by contacting a local pharmaceutical representative or pharmacy. Those institutions authorized to purchase vaccine utilizing NYS contracts should contact the NYSDOH regional representative (Appendix M) for a copy of the current state vaccine contract. All vaccine manufacturers are listed below for those institutions that wish to purchase MMR, meningococcal and additional vaccines.

New York Vaccines for Children (NY VFC) Program
Free vaccine is available through the NY VFC program. College students age 18 or under are eligible to receive free vaccine if they are:
- Medicaid/Medicaid Managed care enrolled;
- Not insured/have no insurance;
- Underinsured (insurance does not cover immunizations);
- American Indian/Alaskan Native;
- Receiving vaccine at a county/city health department.
