Public Hearing Notice - November 7, 2022

Wednesday, September 28, 2022 – The NYS Department of Health has published a notice of proposed rulemaking for the New York State Early Intervention Program in the September 28, 2022 issue of the New York State Register. The New York State Department of Health has proposed revisions to amend Subpart 69-4. The proposed amendments include: recognizing four new provider types and removing school psychologists and the waiver for ABA Aides; lowering the risk criteria for blood lead levels consistent with Part 67; setting a minimum length for basic early intervention (EI) visits; clarifying supplemental evaluations, collateral visits, and Group EI services; ensuring parents sign session logs; and correcting cross-references and typographical errors.

Oral comments will be limited to ten minutes. The Bureau of Early Intervention will attempt to accommodate individual requests to speak at particular times in consideration of special circumstances. Ten copies of any prepared testimony should be presented at the Public Hearing unless the comments were submitted by email or in writing prior to the Public Hearing.
