Tick Risk Score by Region

This map displays the risk of encountering an infected blacklegged (deer) tick by NY geographic region. Ticks can be infected with any of the pathogens causing Lyme disease, anaplasmosis, babesiosis, hard tick relapsing fever, or Powassan encephalitis. Measures used to calculate risk scores are taken at single points in time at multiple locations in each region and averaged, so may not accurately reflect risk across an entire region. Risk scores range from 0-10, with a higher number indicating a greater risk of encountering an infected blacklegged (deer) tick. Take precautions to avoid tick bites and contact your health care provider immediately if you develop a rash or flu-like symptoms after spending time outdoors.
