EIP Wadsworth Center

As the NYS Public Health Reference Laboratory, Wadsworth Center collaborates with NYS EIP to provide molecular and microbial testing for research projects and surveillance activities. 

Bacteriology

The Wadsworth Center Bacteriology Laboratory is responsible for the identification and characterization of bacterial pathogens of public health importance.

Virology

The Laboratory of Viral Diseases detects and characterizes viral pathogens in general virology and has specialty programs in enteric and encephalitic viruses, vaccine preventable disease, and antiviral resistance.

Antibiotic Resistance Laboratory Network

The Antibiotic Resistance Laboratory Network is housed in both the Bacteriology and Mycology Laboratories, where it provides rapid detection of antibiotic resistance in pathogens of public health importance.
