After you have access to HCS, we highly recommended taking the Health Commerce Training Institute (CTI) on-line Courses for Hospitals and Clinics

  • CTI-200 – Communications Directory Certification
  • CTI-300 – Integrated Health Alerting and Notification System (IHANS) Training & Certification “Available for State and local Health Departments only”.

Through the SUNY's School of Public Health, the Office of Health Emergency Preparedness produces a monthly e-newsletter called "Aware Prepare Update" that lists an assortment of professional development training e-courses to educate, guide and connect your staff/facility to your health community. The newsletter is posted regularly on the main page of the Health Commerce System. Or, to be included in the mailing list to receive the e-newsletter, email edlearn@health.ny.gov. These trainings may be provided in one or more of the following formats, including: live webcasts, webinars and in-person training; archived webcasts, webinars and on-demand eLearning.

The e-courses listed above are highly recommended to fully understand how to use the Health Commerce System and can be accessed via the web-based tool "New York Learns Public Health" designed to facilitate the registration and tracking of learners in competency-based courses for staff in State, local and public health and allied health agencies throughout New York.
