Most Medicaid eligible people residing in a mandatory county are required to join a managed care health plan. The Now is the Time to Join a Health Plan (PDF) brochure will explain to you how to join a health plan, what health plan services are covered, who does not have to or cannot join a health plan and who to contact for more information.

The NY State Medicaid Redesign Team (MRT) initiatives include phasing out many of the managed care exemptions and exclusions beginning 10/1/11. The goal is to have care management for most Medicaid recipients. Visit the Medicaid Redesign Team page for more information.
