Implementation of Health Homes: HIT Webinars

To enhance the Health Information Technology component of the Health Home program, which will serve as a priority care coordination model for Medicaid in NY State, the NYS Department of Health, Office of Health Information Technology Transformation (OHITT), in collaboration with the two Regional Extension Centers in New York, have put together a series of webinars based on their experience in bringing priority primary care providers to Meaningful Use.

The webinars focused on tools and workflows for adoption of electronic health records (EHRs). Because of the similarity in adoption and support services needed for Health Homes, this series of webinars provided assistance to Health Homes and their partners to enhance the implementation of EHRs within the Health Home Network.

The ehealth Network of Long Island (eHNLI) will provide an overview of what electronic health records (EHRs) are, deployed and the key areas to think about when selecting the technology. The webinar serves as a great introduction to how the electronic health record environment connects with technologies that support the sharing of health information. Participants will be provided with an overview of the HIT landscape including other technologies and organizations that integrate with practices using an EHR including (but not limited to) the services and connectivity a RHIO can provide.
