NY State of Health Promotes Affordable Health Coverage at Juneteenth Events Across the State

ALBANY, N.Y. – (June 15, 2017) – NY State of Health, the state's official health plan Marketplace, is participating in Juneteenth events throughout the state to educate thousands of attendees about the affordable health insurance options available to New Yorkers. Dating back to 1865, Juneteenth is the oldest known celebration commemorating the end of slavery in the United States.

"Participating in cultural and historical events like these allow us to connect with New Yorkers in the community and promote health insurance options through the Marketplace," said NY State of Health Executive Director Donna Frescatore. "This marks the fourth year that the Marketplace has been a part of Juneteenth, and we're excited to once again be present at events throughout the state."

Certified enrollment assistors will be on hand at Juneteenth events to answer questions about coverage through the Marketplace, help people set up appointments to enroll during a Special Enrollment Period (SEP) if they qualify and learn how to apply when the next open enrollment period begins on November 1.
