Media Advisory: New York State Drinking Water Quality Council Meeting

Event: New York State Drinking Water Quality Council to Meet on October 17, 2018

What:

The statewide Drinking Water Quality Council (DWQC) will hold its next meeting on October 17, 2018, to address therecent federal Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry report recommending new minimumrisk levels foremerging contaminants like PFOA and PFOS, as well as discuss ways to address a broader group ofrelated per and polyfluoroalkyl chemicals.

DWQC meetings are open to the public. A comment session will be held at the end of the meeting. Attendees at either of the two locations listed below will be able to provide comment during the comment session. Verbal comment is limited to 2 minutes.

The meeting locations will include:

  • Public Service Commission Board Room, 90 Church Street,
    New York, NY
  • Meeting Room 5, Concourse, Empire State Plaza,
    Albany, NY

Note: Attendees at any of the two locations may be asked for photo i.d. Meetings can be viewed from any location live via webcast at https://www.health.ny.gov/events/webcasts/. Webcasts of the meetings are posted on the New York State Department of Health's web site for one year within two weeks following the meeting.
