Sonia Robinson, Public Health Educator, Oswego County Health Department

  • 3 years of service

Ms. Robinson came to the Department in early 2012 with rich experience in government, health education, and community services. She is dedicated to public health education and public health emergency preparedness. She is Innovative and prolific in her development of tools, presentations and health information sheets for the community. Most notably Sonia coordinated Strategic National Stockpile (SNS) drills with local Girl Scout troops making the drills more meaningful and holding staff accountable. As part of the exercises, LHD staff received an inventory of "supplies" (Girl Scout cookies) to be unloaded, sorted by product, then into orders, and processed for distribution to the 25 local troops. In the past two years, about 30,000 boxes of Girl Scout's cookies were distributed without an error. This model attracted local, state and national attention last year. She will be presenting the model at the 2015 Public Health Emergency Preparedness Summit in Atlanta, GA.
