Daniel J. Keeler, P.E., Senior Public Health Engineer, has been striving to bring public water systems into compliance with state and local regulations in addition to his other responsibilities. Dan is responsible for reviewing the engineering for projects involving new, and modifications to existing public water systems, septic systems, sewage collection and treatment facilities, public swimming pools, well permits, and use changes in addition to regulating all the community public water systems located within his area of jurisdiction. His achievements include bringing local public water systems into compliance, installing radium removal systems and getting the Town of Wappinger to install a water filtration system. Dan has also been instrumental in getting small community public water system owners and operators to submit annual water quality reports in a timely manner. Dan has consistently helped operators understand regulations and has provided them with yearly sampling schedules which have resulted in a decrease in the number of monitoring violations.
