Karl W. Klug promotes Emergency Medical Services as an integral part of the regional public health care system, and its mission consistent with impacting the overall health of the community. Karl's clear vision and leadership is demonstrated in his oversight and coordination of Suffolk County's Public Health and Medical Services Work Group. He has linked Emergency Medical Services together with hospitals, long-term care facilities, dialysis centers, adult homes, and others who are responsible for mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery efforts that focus on incidents that surge the health care system. Karl's county-wide contributions are substantiated by his participation on the New York State Health Emergency Preparedness Coalition and his contributions toward the development of an updated Suffolk County-wide Comprehensive All-Hazards Emergency Management Plan, recognizing that any naturally occurring or man-made incident of magnitude has an impact on the health of people and the environment.
