Mary Griffiths, Yates County Public Health

Mary Griffiths is the Yates County Public Health Quality Improvement Nurse. She chairs the local Performance Improvement/Quality Assurance Committee, participates on the S2AY Regional Performance Improvement Committee and Co-Chairs the Regional Hypertension Coalition. Mary has been key in the multijurisdictional application submitted to PHAB for the counties of Ontario, Schuyler, Seneca, Steuben, Wayne and Yates. She worked collaboratively with her peers in the other counties to ready all for the application process. Once they committed to moving forward with the application, Mary worked with Yates County staff to pull the necessary documentation together and wrote all narratives to accompany the documents. She assisted her peers in the other counties by reviewing their materials and suggesting improvements prior to the final submission. Mary helps by supporting a culture of continuous quality improvement in the department; an expectation of all public health agencies seeking accreditation.
