Thomas P. Muscarella has worked for Erie County's Environmental Health Division for 27 years. Tom began his career as a certified lead risk assessor in the County's Lead Poisoning Prevention Program and today Tom is the Director of both the Lead Poisoning Prevention and Healthy Neighborhood programs as a Senior Public Health Sanitarian. Tom is a certified NEHA Healthy Homes Specialist and the EPA certified Program Manager for the County's RRP and Lead Safe Work Practices Training Program. Under Tom's management, the program has trained over 3,000 people to work safely around lead-based paint. Tom is very active in the fight against lead poisoning in Erie County. He serves on the local Lead Task Force and makes numerous presentations and appearances to promote primary prevention. Tom has recently been appointed as a member of the NYS Governor's Lead Poisoning Advisory Council.
