Assisted Living Program (ALP)

June 22, 2017

At this time the publicly announced date for Assisted Living Program (ALP) carve in to Managed Care Organizations is July 1, 2017. The Department of Health has convened an internal Office of Health Insurance Programs / Office of Primary Care and Health Systems Management implementation workgroup to discuss a realistic strategy for proposed new dates, cognizant of other concurrent Managed Care initiatives and work plan steps that need to commence.

The Department will be moving forward with the initiative and will retain ALP as a package of services, bringing into Mainstream and MLTC both the benefit and the population, starting October 1, 2018 in NYC and moving to Rest of State January 1, 2019.

Department of Health workgroups will continue internally and at some point in the near future, we will re–engage the trades and plans to address implementation issues. Rate discussions will be conducted on a separate workgroup track.
