Public Health Detailing

Public Health Detailing is an evidence-based strategy to encourage clinical practice change through brief, educational, one-on-one provider visits. Modeled after pharmaceutical detailing to "sell" a specific program or public health concern, the goals are to develop relationships between providers and public health agencies, share information, and change clinical practices.

Our two main focuses for Public Health Detailing are:

  1. Application of fluoride varnish in the medical setting; and
  2. Alternative acute pain management strategies and opioid prescribing in dental settings.
