The Preschool team in Herkimer County consists of dedicated program and fiscal staff who work to serve Herkimer County children who have disabilities or developmental delays, and their families. This program addresses public health by ensuring that children who may need extra attention get whatever services they may need to ensure that they develop and embrace their full potential. The team works diligently to ensure appropriate programmatic and fiscal integrity. In the past few years, the program has expanded exponentially and has had a high rate of staffing turnover, leaving the team to rely only on their immense dedication, perseverance, and self-motivation to carry them through to smoother times. The entire team, primarily headed by Lou Ann Fiore who has acted as program coordinator for 20 years, has worked together seamlessly to ensure that the children of Herkimer County and their families receive the best service possible. These ladies have put not only their professional time and effort into this program, but have selflessly dedicated their personal time as well. They truly care about the community and have embraced not only the duties of public health, but its spirit as well.
