Kathy Carelock has served Monroe County for 35 years with a level-head and a compassionate demeanor. She has worked through many emergency preparedness incidents, and has managed staff through multiple leadership changes with grace and patience. She has provided consistent leadership over years of structural reorganization, aligning programs that address health inequities affecting women and children under the new Maternal & Child Health Division including the Nurse Family Partnership, WIC, and Starlight Pediatrics – a clinic designed to offer trauma informed primary care to children in the foster care system. She is a dependable, hard worker who sets a remarkable example of getting things done with professionalism regardless of circumstance.
