The Women & Infants, Linking Lifetime Opportunities for Wellness (WILLOW) Team works tirelessly to improve the health of women living in high-risk areas of Albany County by addressing health disparities and reducing barriers to a healthy lifestyle with the goal of improving birth outcomes. The Community Health Workers adeptly engage women and their families in conversations about health, birth spacing, and birth control among many other topics. They are experts in linking women to services. Each team member helps women navigate through obstacles to improve their health. Further community and partnership work for the WILLOW team includes community networking, development and implementation of the monthly WILLOW Community Bulletin, and the WILLOW Learning Collaborative. WILLOW staff support and value public health education and collaborate to build sustainable services for the community at large.
