Notification to Medicaid Managed Care Plans (MMCPs) Regarding Coverage of Tuberculosis (TB) Testing and Interpretation Services

Tuberculosis (TB) testing and interpretation services were approved through the State Plan Amendment effective 9/1/21. However, these services were included in the managed care benefit package under Section 10.15 c) and Section 10.18 a) in the Medicaid Managed Care/Family Health Plus/HIV Special Needs Plan/Health and Recovery Plan Model Contract prior to 9/1/21 and are required to be covered by plans. Therefore, plans should cover TB testing and interpretation services beginning 7/1/21. For youth in FFS, these services are billable from 9/1/21 forward.
