Meaningful Use (MU) Public Health Reporting
The Eligible Professional (EP), Eligible Hospital (EH), or Critical Access Hospital (CAH) is in active engagement with a Public Health Agency (PHA) or Clinical Data Registry (CDR) to submit electronic public health data in a meaningful way using Certified EHR Technology (CEHRT), except where prohibited and in accordance with applicable law and practice.

As the Meaningful Use Registration for Public Health (MURPH) system is no longer operational, organizations that wish to engage with a public health registry will need to contact that registry directly. The contact information for a selection of state public health registries can be found using the registry pages below. For any questions related to sign on or current status, please contact the listed department using the email or phone number provided.
Important MURPH System Service Update
The Enhanced Meaningful Use (EMU) program is no longer active as of 12/31/2021. The Meaningful Use Registration for Public Health (MURPH) system was taken offline on 12/31/2021 as well, and the system can no longer be accessed. Any questions or concerns regarding Public Health Registries should be brought directly to the registry, as the Public Health Support Team is no longer available.
